Research

My research evolves around tectonics/geodynamics and the evolution of the lithosphere at various spatio-temporal scales. My extensive field experience spans a diverse range of world-class tectonic settings, where I worked in sedimentary basins, metamorphic basement and magmatic terranes to reconstruct subduction, accretion and exhumation in convergent margin settings such as the Mediterranean region and the Andes. I apply field based methods, such as: structural geology, sedimentology, stratigraphy, isotope geochemistry, and paleomagnetism to make regional scale reconstructions. I am particularly interested in relationships between orogenic/plate boundary events and far-field changes in plate motion.
